Respect in the Military - 1183 Words

Essay The purpose of this essay is to further my knowledge of the Army NCO support channel, chain of command and why we as Soldiers use them. It is also to inform the parties that may be what I feel loyalty, dedicated service and also my interpretation of Military bearing and Discipline. I am explaining the importance of obeying a lawful order from an NCO and performing that order in a timely manner. The NCO support channel is designed to be subordinate to and supportive of the chain of command. The NCO support channel is not an independent channel. It is mandatory of the users of this channel to ensure that the chain of command is kept informed of actions implemented through the NCO support channel and to eliminate the possibility of†¦show more content†¦If an NCO tells a soldier to prepare a vehicle before they roll out for a mission, the NCO is telling the soldier to get the vehicle and whatever else ready so that they can be fully functional and help with the fight. Even if t he soldier doesnt know why they are being told, the soldier must execute the order without question. When a soldier executes an order quickly and to standard, they help with the effectiveness of the unit, because every single soldier is vital to winning the war. They strengthen the unit and increase the moral of the unit by relieving the leadership of worries as to whether the soldier is going to carry out the order correctly. This builds a stronger team with high morale. For example, when an NCO gives someone an order, the soldiers must follow those directions so that everything runs smoothly and in an orderly fashion. The NCO knows what is going on more than the soldier would. Picture, if you would, a soldier decides to cross the road and a vehicle is coming at high speed on that road and an NCO gives the soldier an order not to cross.
